When it comes to post-incident alcohol and drug tests at work sites, clarity in testing policy is essential, legal experts say.
“The policy needs to be clear on what truly is a significant incident and what decision making process should be followed for when testing is appropriate,” says Barb Butler, president of Barbara Butler and Associates.
Butler was joined by Michael McCreary, partner, Watson Jacobs McCreary and Michael McFadden, partner, Ogilvy Renault at a recent labour relations conference to discuss the national alcohol and drug testing landscape.
